Suggested 7 Night Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive in Grenada Maurice Bishop International Airport. (This is less than 4 hours from Miami). We will be waiting for you at Port Louis Marina, minutes from airport. We will help every step of the way. We will welcome you aboard and if it's not too late, we can head right out for our first night to Rhonde island. Ronde Island, Grenada is a 2,000-acre private island in the Lesser Antilles chain of the Caribbean Sea. You may be the only one putting your toes in the sand!
Day 2. Sail to Union island. Deserted bays, long stretches of golden sand, turquoise waters and endless coral reefs – Union Island is without a doubt one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. Overlooked by soaring peaks, this strange little strip of land owes its nickname of “the Tahiti of the West Indies” to its volcanic silhouette. When you arrive here, you will discover what the locals consider to be “the best-kept secret in the Grenadines” -Chatham Bay. Surrounded by hills and valleys carpeted in tropical rainforest, sheltering many sea turtles, this delightful half-moon of sand is, each day, the setting for the numerous pelicans who inhabit the island. (our favorite bird) The Tenuta resort is a great place to visit with it's beach bars and great snorkeling.
Day 3. Sail over to Mayreau, It is the smallest inhabited island of the Grenadines, with an area of about 0.46 sq. miles and a population of about 271. It is an isolated community, accessible by boat. Turquois waters and white beaches. Fun bars & you must visit raffi Bob, we have been friends for years. His bar is like none other. The locals are friendly and welcoming.
Day 4. Just a 30 minute sail to the Tobago Cays, the jewel of the Caribbean. They are an archipelago located in the Southern Grenadines of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines comprising five small islands. White sandy beaches, uninhabited islands, pristine coral reefs, and a laid back Caribbean island vibe awaits you. Much of the allure of the Tobago Cays can be credited to the National Park designation. Regulations protect the marine environment such as no fishing and anchoring restrictions. Another reason it's unique boat visitors only! It's accessible by private yacht, this keeps the number of visitors down that such a special place would otherwise attract. Do you rember the Pirates of the Caribbean movies? This is where they filmed it AND we met locals that were in the movie as extra's. To say the movie does not do it justice is an understatement. It is the closest to Paradise we have seen. That night you will have a lively BBQ on the beach with Captain Kojac.
Day 5. We head over to Canouan island. You can rent a golf cart and ride around this small island where towering Mount Royal offers panoramic views from its summit. The island is known for its beaches, snorkeling, shopping and great restaurants in Sandy Lane Yacht club.
Day 6. Caracou Carriacou is known as the "Isle of Reefs", and features some of the most unspoiled coral reefs in the region. Carriacou is the second-largest island of the Caribbean nation of Grenada. It's about 12 miles long by 3 miles wide. Carnival or Mardi Gras is held just before Lent. There are parades with oily jab-jabbers, Shakespeare recitation matches and a lot of rum-drinking. Fun time! If you are celebrating an occasion the paradise beach club knows how to do it. They do an amazing show to show you how special you are!
Day 7. We will leave Carrriacou for our sail back to Grenada (4 hours)We will stop at the underwater park of sculptures then anchor at Morne Rouge Beach. Affectionately called BBC by locals, this half mile white sandy beach in the south of Grenada is perfect for families with its beautiful crescent shape and lazy waves, just perfect for swimming. Though easily accessible to the public, the beach is never crowded, in fact, many days, you may have the beach all to yourself. It’s shallow waters, white sand and calm crystal-clear water is ideal for families or solo travelers or couples can pick their perfect spot and relax in the shade. While you are there, be sure to visit the chill bar and restaurant spots on the beach and treat yourself with a Grenadian rum punch and some good food.
Day 8. We will be docking again at Port Louis in the morning giving you time to take a half day island tour with our favorite guide. Well worth it to see how beautiful this island is before your flight. Visit the Chocolate factory, Volcano, Rain forest (yes, with monkeys)and the many farmers markets selling their goods in town. The people are called the friendliest island in the Caribbean and we couldn't agree more.
